English Conversation Club
For Parents and Caregivers of McKechnie students
Practice English, Comfortable and with Tea
Organized by Naomi J., a parent at McKechnie.
This is not an English class.
It's a conversation circle.
Naomi is a volunteer facilitator, not a teacher.

Participants practice English in a comfortable, relaxed setting. We'll have tea, it will be a chance for people to interact with other parents, make friends

It's for beginner level English Speakers (parents and caregivers of McKechnie students)

DIFFERENT THEME every week (introducing yourself, weather, shopping, health and feelings...)

We practice some useful vocabulary and expressions in English (for example, telling the teacher a child is sick..)
It's a partnership between Vancouver School Board and Settlement Services Canada. There is a Settlement Worker there to help connect parents with community resources they may not know about.
We'll meet every Friday from 9-10:15am in the Library from January 26th until March 15 (start of Spring Break)
